With the help of Smyrna moviegoers, Malco Theatres raised approximately $50,000 forlocal children's hospitals with its annual Kids Summer Film Fest, the theater chain announced.
The annual festival offered reduced-admission family favorite films on Tuesdays and Wednesdays throughout the summer at multiple locations in Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi and Kentucky, including the Malco-Roxy location in Smyrna.
Beneficiaries include Le Bonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis, Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock, the Blair E. Batson Children's Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi, Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky, and the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville.

Memphis-based Malco Theatres is a fourth-generation family owned and operated business that will reach its 100th anniversary in 2015. Malco Theatres operates more than 340 screens at 33 locations across the Southeast, as well as bowling centers in Louisiana.
